Every year GB Group Plc support a nominated charity and run a number of events to raise money for it.  This year the chosen charity is MIND - The Mental Health Charity.  Throughout our lifetime most of us will either suffer from a mental illness or know someone who will.  Public awareness of mental health and support services is led by charitable organisations such as MIND and they can only survive on the generosity of the general public.  MIND provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.  MIND are determined to help everyone experiencing a mental health problem to get the support and respect they need.

The challenge I shall be undertaking will be a tough 60 mile off road mountain bike course across the Peak District.  Whilst I consider myself to be a relatively fit 45 year who enjoys bike riding this challenge will be very demanding.  Based on a very optimistic average speed of 10 mph I'll be in the saddle for 6 hours, but allowing for steep climbs, food and toilet stops its more likely to be nearer 8 hours!!  Ouch.  

I'm conscious that donation requests for charitable events are frequent nowadays so I will be extremely grateful for whatever generosity my family and friends are able to give for such a worthy cause.
