Hello everyone 😄
As spring arrived and with it, the lifting of the lockdown rules, I’ve decided to stretch my legs and “go the distance” for a great cause. This May I’m taking part in the RNLI Mayday Challenge.
A mayday is an urgent call for help. Usually, RNLI lifesavers answer mayday calls and go to rescue others. But this May, with the busiest summer season on the way, it’s they who need our help. The Mayday Mile takes place virtually from 1-16 May 2021, however I’ve set up for myself to cover the whole month of May and hopefully to overcome my goal.
What I’m aiming for is to do the distance -100 miles over the course of May and through this, to explore more of our beautiful area, to get acquainted with the Abersoch Crew and what inspired them to volunteer to be part of the RNLI Abersoch and to take a peek “behind the scenes” of the heroes (and their work) that volunteered to keep us safe. Seeing as this will be my first public found raising, bare with me with my daily updates (that will be posted in my story section) and my weekly posts on why I believe this is a really important challenge and how we can help save lives and keep everyone safe, whilst enjoying the summer to the maximum.
I’m very excited and proud to play my part to help save lives through this amazing fundraising campaign, even if it will be from the land. I've set it up for mysels to walk, run and hopefully even cycle this distance. So here’s to them 🥂 and thank you for all that you’re doing. A massive “Thank you” to all my amazing and lovely friends for your support, your contribution will make an impact. I’ll see you out there 🏃♂️🚴 And I’m off to a great start, 5 miles and counting ☺️✌️ Will you do your Mayday Mile? X #mymaydaymile
