Story
I will be participating in Scotland’s Virtual Kiltwalk between 23-25th April. I have recently started a couch to 5k plan following the birth of my second baby in September. I plan to run 10k on one of these days and walk 10 miles on another. I will just have completed the 5k plan prior to this but what’s running a few more miles 😬. I am raising funds for Action on Postpartum Psychosis. This is the national charity for women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis (PP). PP begins suddenly in the days and weeks following childbirth and is a medical emergency. About 1 in 1000 women who have a baby will develop postpartum psychosis.
The work of the charity is so important to aid recovery of women, increase awareness and educate, facilitate research into the illness and improve current services. I want to help raise money so they can continue with the great work they do. Any donation would be most welcome, or even if you can just share our page to help spread the word, that would also be a great help!
I wanted to do an active challenge as keeping physically active has been a lifeline for me throughout the my pregnancy and postpartum , and particularly with having a new baby during lockdown.
Thanks to Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation, Action on Postpartum Psychosis will receive an incredible *150% of the sponsorship raised. Any donation would be much appreciated, and please do check out the work of this great charity:
