This Lent I'm taking on the Walk for Water Challenge. I'll be walking (or running) 5 miles a day for 40 days to raise money for CAFOD's work around the world. I'm hoping to run the 5 miles each day, if I can avoid injuries! I've been inspired by CAFOD's Walk for Water campaign and the story of Abdella, who lives in Afar, a remote Ethiopian region and one of the hottest parts of the world. He dreams of starting a small business, having his own home, and starting a family….but he has to walk 10 hours every day to collect water. CAFOD’s fundraising this Lent will help local water engineers install water pumps and storage in remote places to help Abdella and many others.
