FAQs

  • How do I register?

We recommend to take part in Game Heroes on Tiltify as this will give you the best experience in terms of your fundraising journey and streaming your event!

However, if you prefer, there is also an option to create a fundraising page on JustGiving to take part in Game Heroes.

  • What do I need to do?

Hit the sign up button and register on our Tiltify site! Then it’s up to you. Gather your virtual squad or go solo. Go for a 24-hour marathon or do it in big chunks. Stream the mayhem and madness on Twitch, or live tweet it.

The only essential is to let ALL your people know you’re taking on this challenge for a great cause, so they can donate and support you like the hero you are!

  • When can I hold my event?

We think 24 hours is the ultimate challenge but you can choose how you complete it. So, feel free to set yourself a good and achievable challenge – not forgetting, of course, that you’ll need to take breaks to stay fuelled, hydrated and (ahem) comfortable.

  • How do I stream my event?

You can sign up to Game Heroes on our Tiltify site to easily integrate your Twitch stream. Once registered, you can start hitting those fundraising milestones and choose a date to stream your activity. Check out the Tiltify Twitch Stream Guide for need further support.

  • Can I set up a team page?

If you’d like to set up a team page, one member of the team can register in the teams name or alternatively each team member can register individually. Find out more about creating a Tiltify team.

  • How do I raise money?

Easy. When you sign up, you’ll create your own Game Heroes Tiltify page. When it’s ready, send your friends, family and colleagues a link to it. It’ll have all the details of the challenge you’re taking on – and lets people sponsor you and donate straight to Macmillan, quickly and easily online. You can find out more on the Tiltify FAQs.

Check out these fundraising resources, designed to help you maximise your donations.

  • What is Gift Aid and am I eligible?

Make every £1 worth 25p more at no extra cost to you. It’s just a little box to tick but Gift Aid makes a huge difference when it comes to how much money we can raise to support people living with cancer.

To be eligible to add Gift Aid to your donation, you must be a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less income tax and/or capital gains tax then the amount of gift aid claimed on all donations made in that tax year it’s your responsibility to pay any difference.

This option will be there on your fundraising page, but if you could mention it to your sponsors, you could help raise much more money to support people living with cancer. Find out more about Gift Aid.

  • Where will the money go?

The money you raise will help provide physical, emotional and financial support to people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Find out more about how the money you raise will help us to continue to whatever it takes.

  • Are you fundraising on Facebook?

If you choose to use Facebook as a fundraising platform, or in order to complement or top up donations for your Game Heroes, please note we may not be aware of this fundraising activity.

If you raise money on Facebook and want us to acknowledge this, please get in touch; you can email fundraising@macmillan.org.uk or send us a private message through Facebook.

  • How can I cancel my event?

To cancel your Tiltify event, you will need to retire your campaign. Visit the Tiltify FAQs for more details.

  • What should I do if I’ve forgotten my username and password?

Click forgotten password when you go to login to receive an email from Tiltify to access your account. Still having trouble? Please read the Tiltify FAQs for help logging into your account.

  • Can under 18s take part?

Game Heroes is only open to participants aged 18 and over. Macmillan takes the safety and wellbeing of children seriously.

  • Will my personal details be secure?
