Story

Our flagship annual fundraising event, Lollipop Day, could not go ahead this year as traditionally planned on our streets and amongst our communities, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

This has left us 50% behind the target necessary to fund the essential Barrett's Oesophagus Registry & Bio Bank as well as the continued running of the landmark Neo-AEGIS Clinical Trial.

We need 150k to keep these crucial, Irish-led, screening, treatment and research programmes alive and to continue increasing the diagnosis of early cancer, improving services and helping those affected live long, full lives.

Can you run, walk your dog, skip or step it out any way you like to be active and cover 50kms distance by the end of October to help OCF bridge the gap and raise the remaining 50% of our target?

About the charity

We are the national charity for Oesophageal Cancer in Ireland; bringing the good fight to a bad cancer. We aim to increase awareness of related symptoms to promote early diagnosis, raise funds for breakthrough research, and help improve the outcomes of anyone living with this difficult cancer.
