Story
Your donations could help children like Josh, who has only spent one Christmas at home. The others, he has been in hospital.
Josh's mum, Claire, explains:
"Josh was born with a complex heart condition and has spent much of his short life in and out of intensive care. While his friends have put on their festive jammies and laid out mince pies and milk for Santa, we have sat by his hospital bed, willing him to keep fighting.
"This year, we are desperate for Josh to be well and at home but the anxiety is crippling. I can't imagine how distressing it's going to be at the Sick Kids with restricted visiting - not being able to see siblings or grandparents will be devastating. After the exhaustion and worry of lockdown and restrictions, everything is going to be so much more difficult.
"We really hope we won't have to spend this Christmas in hospital but we know that if we do, Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity will be there for us and for all the children like Josh. Alongside the amazing NHS teams, they'll make sure that families don't miss out on any of the magic and joy. The kids will be treated like the heroes they are."
With your help, Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity will make sure no child or young person in hospital misses out on any of the joy and wonder of the festive season. We rely solely on your donations to be able to do this.
How your support could make a difference:
£20 could pay for a child to enjoy the fun of a Christmas party on their ward.
£30 could provide a magical festive play session at a child's bedside.
£50 could fund a week's stay in our parents' accommodation, so mums and dads can stay close to their child this Christmas.
Please consider making a gift to Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity.
Your donations could give a child in hospital their Christmas back.
Thank you!
