Local giving in Geelong to help keep sick children safe and comfortable
UBC is fundraising for two patients beds for the children's ward at Barwon Health
UBC (Uncle Bobs Club) is partnering with Barwon Health Foundation to raise $15,000 for two new childrens patient beds as part of the clubs Local Giving for Local Health program. From now until November 4, the community will be able to donate online, or in-person via UBC donation tins or scheduled events. The Local Giving for Local Health campaign began in 2020, and is a proud part of UBCs 80-year fundraising history that includes the Good Friday Appeal conducted each year.
Barwon Health will purchase two patient beds for the Childrens Ward at Barwon Health. The current Childrens Ward received a major redevelopment in 2013 that saw the entire ward reconfigured and all equipment updated. This has been well received and appreciated by Barwon Health staff, patients and their families and very well utilised during the course of the past 9 years. As everything does, some equipment is now in need of updating and replacing.
The current need for the ward is the replacement of patient beds. The beds ensure a safe and comfortable experience for patients and allow staff to effectively and efficiently care for patients at the bedside.
When the fundraising campaign ends on November 4, 2022, any additional funds raised will go to the hospitals next project.
